Barberry, scientifically known as Berberis vulgaris, is one of the most important medicinal plants and one of the most popular strategic products of Iran. Iran is the largest producer of barberry in the world, with South Khorasan province accounting for 95% of global production. The main production areas are Qaenat and Zirkuh counties. The harvest season for fresh barberries runs from mid-October to late November. Barberry has a tangy, mild sour taste and a bright red color. Due to its sour flavor and numerous health benefits, it is used in various fields, including cooking, medicine, cosmetics, beverages, food products, industrial uses, and food decoration. There are different types of barberry: Anari, Puff, and Zir Talari. The drying method after harvest distinguishes these varieties. The puffed type is considered the best for export.
Zahidi dates are one of the most popular types of dates in the world. They have a golden yellow to light brown color, an oval shape, a dry texture, and a mild sweetness, making them suitable for both food industries and daily consumption. Zahidi dates come in various grades based on their color, size, and moisture content, with larger, meatier dates of lighter color typically classified as grade one. The best areas for cultivating Zahidi dates are regions with warm, dry climates and fertile soil, such as Khuzestan, Bushehr, Hormozgan, and southern Fars Province. Due to their dry nature, Zahidi dates do not require low temperatures for storage and can be easily transported in regular cartons without needing refrigerated containers. Export packaging typically includes bulk cartons of 5 kg and 10 kg. Zahidi dates are beneficial for controlling diabetes, reducing cholesterol, and are rich in fiber, antioxidants, manganese, calcium, and iron, making them an excellent multivitamin source.
One of the most popular dates in the world is the Mazafati date. This date has a thin black skin and an oval shape, featuring a soft and syrupy texture. It can be consumed both as dried dates and fresh (Rutab). Mazafati dates come in various grades, which are determined based on color, size, and moisture content. Larger and darker dates are typically classified into higher grades. These dates are primarily cultivated in Bam and Jiroft in Kerman Province, with Bam being notable for producing 120,000 tons of Rutab, making it the largest producer of Mazafati dates in the world. Due to their syrupy nature and soft texture, Mazafati dates require sensitive storage and transport conditions, needing to be kept at temperatures between 5°C to -5°C. Refrigerated containers must be used for transport to prevent spoilage. Mazafati dates are available in a variety of packaging options, usually packed in master cartons containing 12 baby cartons of different weights. They are also exported in bulk packaging of 5 kg and 10 kg. Rich in calcium, potassium, and iron, Mazafati dates are very beneficial for heart health, bone strength, and boosting the immune system.

Piarum dates are cultivated in Hormozgan, Bushehr, and Kerman. They have low moisture content, resulting in a long shelf life, remaining viable at room temperature for 12 to 18 months without refrigeration. Due to their quality and durability, Piarum dates are in high demand worldwide, and their thin, dry skin allows for easy washing.
